Spain – A title contender

World Cup 2014 – the biggest football tournament in the planet – is imminent. Anticipation is growing rapidly day by day. Every national team is preparing for it. Players are getting on their best form so that they can represent their country in world cup. Fans are guessing which team will get the cup this time. Clearly, different names might have popped out since there are lots of strong contenders of cup. Spain is one of them.
Vincente Del Bosque has instilled the philosophy of ‘Tiki-Taka’ in the national team, which has got them victories over so many major tournaments. With this strategic prowess of Bosque, Spain beat Germany 1-0 (with Torres’ only goal as winning goal) in Euro 2008, Holland 1-0 (with Iniesta’s goal in additional time) in World Cup 2010 and Italy 4-0 in Euro 2012. However, recently Spain lost to Brazil (0-3) in finals of Confederation Cup.

Confederation Cup will be their wake-up call. It will make them realize how competition has grown so rapidly over these past years. Spain just to need be cautious now. It’s not only emerging players are growing in other national teams. Spain also has produced some fine youngsters. Isco is one of the key young players. His transfer to the Spanish giants – Real Madrid FC – shows that he is capable of competing with top class players. Thiago Alcantara is another prolific figure. Under his captaincy, Isco and he won the U21 Euro Cup.

There are always the prolific and majestic senior and experienced players who are still the major invaluable asset to the national team side. Fernando Torres, Negredo, David Villa will cover the position of central striker. Andres Iniesta, Pedro, Jesus, Navas, David Silva, Cesc Fabregas, Santi Cazorla, Xavi Hernandez, Xabi Alonso, Sergio Busquets and Javi Garcia will handle the midfield of the team. Whilst in the defense Gerard Pique, Jordi Alba, Raul Albiol, Sergio Ramos, Nacho Monreal and Alvaro Arbeloa will be the major influence. Iker Casillas, Pepe Reina and Victor Valdes will be responsible in goal keeping. 

World Cup 2014 id going to be held in Brazil and is going to be an incredible tournament. Let's see if Spain gets its winning streak again.
